Letters to Santa
Get the kids involved in the holiday magic with Rockhampton’s Letter to Santa. From 28 October to 8 December, children can post their Christmas wish letters in the North Pole Express Letterbox outside Customs House on Quay Street. Letters posted by 8 December will receive a reply from Santa before Christmas. This event is free just make sure to include your child’s name and home address to get a reply.
Radiance
Step into a world of festive wonder at Radiance, Rockhampton Botanic Gardens immersive Christmas light and sound experience, running from 28 November to 24 December. This year’s theme, the Toy Makers Workshop, features interactive light displays, holograms, lasers, projections, soundscapes, and returning favourites like the reflective Japanese Gardens and falling snow. Sessions run nightly, starting with a low-sensory session at 6:45pm, followed by general entry every 15 minutes. Tickets must be purchased online in advance.
CBD Christmas Fair
Join the festive celebrations at the CBD Christmas Fair on 6 December at the Riverside Precinct on Quay Street. This community favourite features market stalls, food vendors, an outdoor cinema, and the traditional lighting of the Christmas Tree. Festivities run from 5pm to 9pm, with the full program to be announced soon.
Carols by Candlelight
Enjoy a warm, family-friendly holiday evening at Carols by Candlelight, held at the Pilbeam Theatre on 12 and 13 December at 6:30pm. Local performers and musicians lead two nights of joyful Christmas songs and carols, creating an intimate and magical holiday experience.
New Year’s Eve Celebration
Ring in 2026 with Rockhampton’s New Year’s Eve celebrations at the Riverside Precinct on Quay Street. Bring he family, pack a picnic, and enjoy food from onsite food vans. The night features a family fireworks display at 7:30pm and a spectacular midnight show to welcome the New Year in style.
