Rocky has been Event Central in 2024

Rockhampton has hosted so many big events so far in 2024 and now that the month of June is upon us, we are halfway through the year, and still so many events to go.

The Big Beer Festival in February enabled many to keep cool and carry on down by the Fitzroy River at the always amazing Riverside Precinct.

Celebrating Easter at RockyNats04

Easter Weekend at the end of March brought the massive crowds to Rocky to celebrate everything cars with the Rare Spares Rockynats 04. Even if you’re not into cars, this is an event to experience. The sights and the sounds. It is LOUD!  Drag racing. Burnout competitions. For so many people these cars are a labour of love, so a Must Do is to wander along Quay Street to see the displays of lovingly restored cars, and to witness the community of car enthusiasts congregating together and enjoying themselves.

April brought the horse racing event of the year in Rockhampton known as The Archer at Callaghan Park.  Big prize money on offer brought the glamorous to party trackside and to bet on some quality horses.

We want more Beef!

Beef24 in May was a massive industry event organised by Beef Australia and celebrated everything Beef at the Rockhampton Showgrounds. Fortunate that this event is only held once every three years, as this crowd worked hard and partied harder. Celebrity chefs. Seminars. Long lunches and elegant dinners to socialise and collaborate together. PBR Australia brought their rodeo action to the Great Western Hotel to celebrate the last weekend of Beef24.

Absolutely fabulous to see the crowd enjoying the winter sunshine and enjoying a drink or three, at Pop Up Polo on June 8.  Joy flights on offer by Sunshine Coast Helicopters over the event were enjoyed by many.
