Taste of the World Cultural Festival

August may be coming to an end but there is still plenty of things to do in Rocky. Join us for our Taste of the Wold Cultural Festival on 23rd August along the always fabulous Riverside Precinct. Celebrate all things food, with this immersive cultural festival. Experiences the flavours, spices, and aromas of the worlds cuisine, with everything for the sweet tooth’s (like me) and your savoury friends. Coupled with sensational performances, parades and art stalls, this event is for everyone!

CapriCon Pop Culture Convention

The largest single day pop culture event in Central Queensland, CapriCon Pop Culture Convention, is taking place on 30th August. Showcasing a wide range of pop culture favourites from comics and collectibles to gaming, art and cosplay. The all day event showcases worldwide favourites such as the Disney Descendants star Mitchell Hope as well as home grown favourites.To find out more and purchase your tickets head to their website;

A Quiet September

September’s a quiet one for events but if you love your food then the Capricorn Food and Wine Festival is for you. Offering exceptional food and wine from the region showcasing the talents of Central Queensland. Once again located on our beautiful Riverside Precinct, you’ll have a beautiful view to go along with the amazing food. So join us for the weekend (or even just a couple hours) from the 4th-7th of September.

October Festivities

On 18th October you can experience the beginning of the Melbourne Cup Spring Racing  festivities with Rockhampton’s Caulfield Cup. Witness the elite thoroughbred performances, mixed with our top fashion, and food. With a range of experiences depending on preference and budget, there is something for everyone at this magnificent day.

 And to finish off October the Fitzroy River Barra Bash is back this year! Rockhampton is renowned as the Barramundi capital of Australia and in its 8th year this premier event is a must see (or participate) while your in town. Running over the weekend of 28-31 October, you can sit on the riverbank, maybe with a picnic and watch our fishers in action!

Get into the Christmas Spirit

November sees the return of the always magnificent Radiance Light Experience. Immerse yourself in the beauty and Christmas spirit Radiance brings to the Botanic Gardens year after year, starting from 29 November and continuing until Christmas Eve. You could even make a night of it with the CBD Christmas Fair on the 6th of December (might even see Santa) but you’ll definitely experience all the Christmas joy! The Pilbeam Theatre will again have a specifically display of talent with their annual Carols by Candlelight on 12-13th December. Come and sing along to all your favourite Christmas tunes.

Welcome the New Year

Bringing our year to a close, the New Years Eve fireworks will light up the skies over the Fitzroy River. Watch from home or come along, sit on the bank, and enjoy with your family and friends.
