If you’ve never been to Rockhampton and you’d like to do some exploring, well, there is no better time to go! There are so many events happening all year round.

Starting the year strong!

From the Big Beer Festival in February held a short walk from Citywalk Motor Inn in the Rockhampton Riverside Precinct, to the massive event that is RockyNats held on the Easter long weekend every year. If you are into anything on wheels, this is the event for you. Drag racing, drifting, motorbikes and more. Even if you are not into cars, the concert held every year is fantastic. National acts at the Showground stage are a sight to behold.

Mid-year fun in Rocky

The richest race in regional Queenlsand is The Archer held at Rocky’s Callaghan Park in April, and Pop Up Polo in June, might be more your scene if you’re into the more stylish elegant events. Capricorn Food and Wine Festival at Rockhampton Riverside Precinct is so good for all those “foodies” out there.

PBR Invitational Monster Energy Tour at The Great Western Hotel, is a Must See Event. The action is awesome. Held a  couple times a year, if you miss one, do NOT miss the next one! They even have a PBR Junior Academy for the up and coming rodeo stars of tomorrow.

7Rocky River Run is on in May at Rockhampton Riverfront if sporting action is more your thing.  Then there’s the Qld Touch Junior State Cup in July, the CQ Junior Rowing Regatta in June,  Fitzroy River Barra Bash is in October, and as we are the home of the CQ Capras Rugby League team, there is sure to be a game on a Browne Park, if you’re keen.

Entertainment on the river bank

The mighty Fitzroy River has an event all on its own in July: Rockhampton River Festival. This is a tribute to the river that has the largest river catchment flowing to the eastern coast of Australia. Say hello to Mindi the Barramundi, listen to live music on the banks of the Fitzroy River whilst sharing the evening with friends with food and maybe a drink or two.
